We are so excited to be offering a brand new project – the chance to create an aesthetically pleasing dovetailed breakfast tray whilst learning some fundamental joinery and carpentry skills!
This course will be suitable for you if you’re a confident beginner or if you already have some experience with a chisel – If you don’t feel ready for this course right now but you’re still interested in learning some skills in a supportive environment, please visit our courses page to find an experience more suitable for you!
You will learn about some principles that are fundamental to carpentry and joinery, you will also be making and using a ‘Dovetail Joint’ – you will learn all about it’s application so you can successfully transfer any skills that you learn to projects that you may be working on at home!
You will also learn and practice the use of a wide variety of hand tools including a chisel, sliding bevel, hand saw and combination square – you will most likely find that knowing how to use these basic tools will allow you to progress further (and at ease) in other projects in the future!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day after all, so why not enjoy it using your beautiful handmade breakfast tray? Impress your friends, family and even enemies with a dovetailed breakfast tray – made using two types of local hardwood, seasoned ash and oak.
If you’re interested in learning more about the tools and techniques that will be used during the course – Keep an eye out on our Instagram over the following weeks as we plan to upload little insights into the wonderful world of hand tools!Instagram – @touchwood_sw
